Roadwork ahead! Construction season is in full swing at YNAB. We’re filling little cracks in the code and repainting the pavement lines that keep you on track. Up ahead: a journey through the app that’s as smooth as a freshly paved highway. Feeling inspired to dig? Build a stronger financial foundation for fall by asking yourself what’s most important to you and adjusting your categories accordingly!
23.15.1
The warmest days of summer are soon to be behind us, the smell of freshly sharpened pencils fills the air, and the promise of new routines lies just ahead. While you prep for a new school year—or pumpkin spice everything—we’re ramping up behind-the-scenes fixes to make your fall YNAB routine as smooth as can be. Set fresh Targets, build up your coffee category, and stay tuned!
23.14.2
Today’s release of Focused Views allows you to see only the categories important to you right now. Check underfunded categories in a flash, find money available, or show categories that involve your partner. The options are endless—the views are customizable.
It’s a busy update, because now YNABers can also duplicate transactions within the Accounts tab or save transactions without a category. Reconciled transactions can be modified or deleted. Plus, logging into YNAB just got faster!
23.13.0
Barbie movie mania has got everyone thinking about being on display. Just like the producers want to ensure a flawless premiere, YNAB developers work tirelessly to make sure the app looks sharp and runs smoothly. Our bug fixes and usability improvements are in full view now—dressed in blurple instead of pink.
23.12.3
This update features bold behind-the-scenes fixes and earthy improvements to give you a fresh, clean experience. Pairs well with achieving life goals and loving the way you spend.
23.11.1
Do you know what Jean-Claude Van Damme and this update have in common? They're both really good at doing splits.
This release adds a button that makes it easier to split one transaction into multiple categories. You won't find any friction when it's time to keep track of cashback or categorize your Costco haul. With this update, you'll keep your budget tight and your roundhouse kicks even tighter.
23.10.1
We're proud of our Privacy Policy at YNAB and with this update, we've placed links to the policy and our Terms of Service right on the sign-up screen. The same goes for anyone who receives an invitation to a YNAB Together group; they'll see the links just before accepting their invite.
YNABers tend to feel confident about their spending and saving, and we want them to feel the same way about signing up.
23.9.3
May we offer a suggestion? Instead of scrolling through your entire category list each time you enter a transaction, our smart category suggestions will now surface the most likely options based on past transactions.
We’ve also fixed a bug that sometimes hid the bottom transaction when bulk editing transactions. We hope you’ll enjoy this speedier way of processing multiple transactions, maybe someday while leaning against a “retaining wall along a waterfront.” You know, a bulkhead.
23.8.4
Today’s release is full of clarity fixes—join us in gazing out this freshly washed window. The process for editing memos got a shine-up, and we removed a blockage that hid part of your memo screen. You'll also see a + sign next to new transaction notifications when one or more pending transactions match previously entered ones. And hurrah, changes to currency format are always applied budget-wide.
Love the clearer view? You can now stare at your budget longer than feels socially acceptable.
23.7.1
Once upon a time, there was an app who thought it could run a little faster, have a few less bugs, and become the most up-to-date version of YNAB anyone's ever seen. But first the app had to undergo behind-the-scenes improvements by a magical team of developers. After feats of quality assurance, the app and its Android users lived happily ever after.

You might not see any changes above the surface, but rest assured that we’ve been working deep underscreen on infrastructure and creating more stability in the app. When you can prioritize every dollar you have right from your phone, it's a treasure trove!
23.3.3
2023/02/20
We've been busy behind-the-scenes, making it easier than ever for you to quickly pick target dates and get back to the wholesome life of a wish farmer. That, plus a shorter jump to setting up your budget after subscribing, means you’ll be able to sit back on the porch and just watch the categories grow green.
23.2.4
2023/02/02
It was a team effort when the app pulled in for a pit stop this release. We checked under the hood and changed the oil. New users can now expect a smoother experience when adding transactions and categories to their first budget. Look at that YNABer go!
23.1.2
2023/01/23
We like to move it, move it! In today's release, we bumped a big blue button out of the way so you have a clear view into your help chat history. Looking back at all the cheery support messages and step-by-step instructions is easier than ever. When you're ready to go solo and browse our knowledge base of handy help documents, there's nothing getting in your way.
22.22.3

Sure, the days may be getting shorter but so is the process for adjusting your loan accounts! Now, by the glow of your Android screen, you can see and edit details of any loan account.
Also, to keep your transactions cozy and organized, this update allows you to name your transaction flags with labels like “Tax deductible,” “Ben’s stuff,” or just about anything. One last update before bed, you’ll now find it easier to view transactions you’ve recently added. Happy hibernating.
22.21.1

Do you smell pie? We’re delivering a brand new pie chart visualization to help you track loan payoff on Android. The new overview tab will give you an aerial glimpse at paydown progress and activity, helping you make better decisions about how to prioritize spending and debt payoff.
Other treats came out of the oven today, too. Now your YNAB app icon can pair perfectly with your phone’s wallpaper. Just enable Themed App Icon on your home screen settings (Android 13 and up).

Introducing YNAB Together! Invite your partner, family, or close-knit group (up to five people) to your YNAB Together group where each receives their own account and login. Members can share budgets and success stories—and it’s all included with your subscription.
Don't want to share budgets directly, but still want to spread your love for YNAB? In Settings, click Share YNAB to send a free trial link to anyone—strangers at the grocery store or anyone who’s heard you rave about the Four Rules.

We fixed a crash you might run into when asking for help. Which wasn't very helpful. Oops!
22.18.1
2022/09/27
We’ve added an update that prevents witchy things at the end of the month from carrying over into the next. Let’s say you buy candy on Halloween and then add or import that transaction in November; now you’ll receive an in-app message advising you to move money to avoid confusing November’s budget. While it feels early to go full costume, the Edit Target screen got dressed up anyway. And with updates to Android 13, we’re now using our polite words and asking permission to show notifications.
22.15.2
2022/08/18
There may come a time where you want to save a transaction without setting a payee. Now that’s possible! Next time you’re editing a transaction, do a little tap dance. Remove a payee by giving the current selection a tap. Clickity clickity click! Tada! Your transaction is now saved without a payee. This feature could come in handy if you’re setting up a scheduled transaction for future tap dance lessons but you haven't found a studio yet.

Hot off the griddle! The outflow/inflow toggle has flipped itself into a new format on Android. If you recall (and were drooling) when this update was made for iOS, be hangry no more. We’re dishing it up for our Android crowd too. Instead of seeing a +/- button, you’ll see a more user-friendly toggle to assign money as inflow (green!) or outflow (red!). This update makes it easier for new YNABers and Budget Nerds alike to give every dollar a job. Yum.

Knock, knock – housekeeping! Today’s update is chock full of code clean-up & tweaks to ongoing experiments.
22.11.0
2022/06/02
This release mostly contains behind-the-scenes improvements, as well as some minor fixes: for example, we’re now showing the correct title at the top of a screen when you edit a category target.
