If location permission is granted, your location will be stored locally on your device – it’s never shared with a third party.
Your location enables hyper-local forecasting when the app is run. Widgets & notifications check your location in the background when they’re updated/sent.

* OpenWeather should be working again, and there’s also an attempted fix for the small subset of users experiencing issues loading the weather in general. If that’s you, if the update doesn’t result in an improvement, please clear your app’s cache/storage and restart. * Wrong sun/moon icon should no longer ever be incorrectly showing by default for Dark Sky users (a refresh previously fixed this) – I think I finally cracked this one after managing to reproduce this!
