Solar Smash 2Dは、オリジナル版Solar Smashと同じ開発陣によるスピンオフ作品です。このゲームは、異なる技術を活用し、独自の破壊メカニクスを実現するよう設計されています。

惑星を粉々に砕く機能を備えており、それぞれの惑星は独自の物理法則に従って浮遊・移動します。プレイヤーは宇宙船を操作したり、宇宙船をスポーンさせて大規模な宇宙戦闘を繰り広げたり、好きなデザインで独自の惑星を描くこともできます。
