In this update we added all serving sizes to foods when they were missing. For example, a food that used to only be available to portion in cups is now available in tsp, tbsp, fl oz, and ml. The same is true for weights with oz, lb, and g. This update also contains major infrastructure updates so we can deliver two massive new features next week. :)

While our food database is pretty strong and frequently updated, it's not 100% perfect for every food in existence and so in this update we made it much easier to make corrections to food search results when an edit is necessary. On the food details page, tap the ... menu in the top right to create a custom copy of the food and edit away.

We're also hard at work bringing a new food database online which will provide even greater food coverage for all.

In this update we launched our own in-house food database. Initially we're loading it with recipes from all of your favorite cookbook authors and food bloggers. In the near future we'll be adding new data sources to improve our food search results, particularly for folks outside of the US. In this update we added the ability to change the serving unit of measure of foods that you've already logged. Want to change those egg whites logged in your Breakfast from cups to grams? No problem! The same is also true for foods in your Recents list as well.

This update contains performance improvements, bug fixes, and support for Canadian nutrition labels in the nutrition label scanner.

The nutrition label scanner automatically pops up when scanning a barcode for which no food is found. Just point your camera at the nutrition label and MacrosFirst will grab all the nutrition data for you, eliminating all manual data entry when creating a custom food. The nutrition label scanner is live in the US, Canada, and coming very soon to the UK.

This is a big one! Today we introduce refreshed Daily Log, Food Search Results, and Food Details screens.

On the Daily Log we've added calories as a metric, just like macros, that you can use to recalculate the food's serving size.

Food search results now show calories in addition to macros.

On Food Details we've added 15 micro nutrients (more tracking support coming for these soon), a smoother serving size selector, new macro graphs, and more!
